RDB is New Board Member

Under Article 9.1 of the ADFIAP Constitution which provides for Board representation of not more than 30 members with voting Ordinary Member status, the Rural Development Bank of Cambodia is now a member of the ADFIAP Board. It will be represented by its Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Son Koun Thor.

RDB started as a Special Member on Observed Status in 2002, and has since been active and supportive of ADFIAP’s programs and activities up until its full membership in ADFIAP in 2004. This May, RDB will host an SME symposium for banks and financial institutions in Cambodia with funding support from Germany’s InWEnt and technical assistance from Manila-based Planters Development Bank, the ADFIAP Chairman’s institution.

RDB is an state-owned bank established in 1998. It is an autonomous wholesale bank supporting retail financial institutions (non-governmental organizations, micro-finance institutions), which deliver credit for the promotion of agriculture, rural enterprise and the development of the rural areas of Cambodia.
